introduction

there are a lot of blogs and websites existing that have sounds, loops and beats for free download. but mostly it is mainstream or dance music: techno, dancefloor, hip hop, house, electronic disco. that´s fine but i really think there is something missing.

almost everybody is recording music with a computer nowadays: industrial, idm, click and cut electronica, dubstep, trip hop, minimal electro, modern free jazz, postrock, world music...

and the music i (personally) like is not automatically "electronic" or "computer" music: pre and post punk, new wave, proto-goth / batcave, (post) industrial, krautrock, psychedelia. but i don´t really care about terms and headlines. you could also call it "music for urban dunes and deserts": raw, primal, psychedelic, ritual.

virtual circuit bending

this blog is a kind of "work-in-progress" project. i´m sharing some loops, sounds and selfmade presets with you. i don´t have the knowledge for programming a proper vst effect or instrument on my own. but i do have lots of strange ideas.

with modern technology you no longer have to press a key on a synthesizer or strum a guitar string or beat on a drum for making music or creating sounds. cut. copy. paste. delete.

jpg to wav? wav to midi? jpg to midi?
not a problem nowadays. there are lots of programs that are helping you. and some are doing it by accident. you just have to try and find out. and share your knowledge with other people. that´s what i´m doing.

freeware vst(i)s

you don´t have to spend money for making music. you just have to spend some days (or nights) downloading free effects and instruments.

i have so many freeware plug-ins in my vst folder that i sometimes already have problems starting cubase. and i still have hundreds of vsts in other folders that i even didn´t try yet.
and every week it is getting more...

big brother is watching you

trial and error

i´m not a computer nerd at all. i was growing up in the times of the legendary commodore 64 and (for example) never had any computer lessons at school. in times of wikipedia and other online services it is possible to find solutions for almost every problem. how to make a screenshot? what (the hell) is a "pcm data"? now i know. and i´m sure that tomorrow i will find out new things, too.

selfmade vstis

all selfmade vstis are romplers i created with a demo version of maize sampler. i also don´t like this default skin but i´m not spending money for things like this. i even don´t have a paypal account. the newer ones already look a bit better because i know now what to do...
